Bihar Board Class 10 Results 2017: Prem Kumar tops with 465 marks

In Bihar Board Class 10 exams 2017, more than 15 lakh students appeared at various test centres across the state.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has declared the Bihar Class 10 Matric result 2017 today at 1 pm on its official website biharboard.ac.in

In Bihar Board Class 10 exams 2017, more than 15 lakh students appeared at various test centres across the state.

This year, Prem Kumar has topped the examination by scoring 465 marks out of 500.

Meet other toppers:

Bhawya Kumari (Jamui): 464 marks out of  500

Harshita Kumari (Jamui): 452 marks out of 500

Further, out of the total candidates, only 51 per cent passed the examination.

Last year result data:

  • In 2016, the Bihar Board class 10 result, was declared on Sunday, May 29. Further, the board recorded a sharp dip in pass percentage of 28 per cent
  • Of the 15.47 lakh students, who appeared for the class 10 board examinations, less than half of the students were able to clear the state board exam successfully
  • Pass percentage of boys of the state was 54.44 per cent which was almost 17 per cent more than girls i.e. 37.61 per cent

Furthermore, in 2018, the Bihar BSEB will be conducting the matriculate (class 10) examination from February 21 to February 28.

In addition to this, the exam form for class 10 students will be available from December 29 to January 8, 2018 and the last date to submit the exam form with late fees is January 12, 2018.

About BSEB:

The Bihar School Examination Board is established for holding and conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage, for prescribing the course of studies for such examination and for carrying out such other objects and duties as may be considered necessary for the purpose as stated in the Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board.

Normally, every year, the Bihar School Examination Board conducts the Annual Secondary School Examination in the month of February/March and Supplementary School Examination in the month of August/September on the basis of the course/syllabus as prescribed by the state government.

Apart from the aforesaid Secondary School Examination, the Board also conducts departmental examinations (not on yearly basis) such as Diploma in Physical Education, Certificate in Physical Education and Teachers Training Examination on such terms and conditions as laid down by the state government.
